*New: Testing out online ordering for delivery & pickup.  You can find our ground grassfed & finished beef by ordering here.

Note: Prices based on hanging weight and do not include processing fees.  We use T&E Meats in Harrisonburg, and they charge $75 for kill ($37.50 for a half, $18.75 for a quarter), $.85/lb for Cut and Pack, $.15/lb for Vaccum packing of the ground beef into 1 or 2 pound packs (there is no charge for chubs), $5/Carcass to Collect & Pack Organs (For a whole beef, to be divided based on animal share), & $10/Carcass Hide Removal (For a whole beef, to be divided based on animal share).

For example, we assume 1000 lbs live weight on our steers at time of processing, but it may be more or less than this.  Assuming 55% carcass weight=550 lbs.  For a whole steer, 550lbs hanging weight x $3.60lbs = $1980.00 + Kill Fee $75 + Cut & Pack Fee ($.85 x 550lbs)$467.50 + Ground Beef Vacuum Packing ($.15 x variable amount depending on how beef is cut, let’s say for example 125lbs ground)$18.75 + Organ Collection Fee $5 + Hide Removal Fee $10= $2,556.25 (not including sales tax).  Take home is between 65-75% of that (depending on if you take home soup bones and organs).  So 357.50-412.50lbs.  $2,556.25/412.50 = $6.19/lb with soup bones and organs-$7.15/lb without.  This is less or a little more than the price of one pound of grass-fed ground beef sold retail, and you get a variety of high end cuts, roasts as well as soup bones and nutrient dense organ meats!  This is definitely the most cost effective way to purchase grassfed and finished beef.

*Cow-pooling is encouraged for those who want to get the most bang for their buck.  Quarters are on a first come, first serve basis as to how it is cut.  We will let you know ahead of time depending on what we have available if there is a quarter free to choose how it’s cut, if not we will try to match you up with one that’s already taken that will suit you best.
